Supporting local communities
Dua Kelinci is a source of pride to the people of Pati. It is the town’s
largest employer and has put the small town ‘on the map.’ Community support is
important to the company and it seeks to return that support in a number of
ways.
Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) Program
Company employees
enjoy high standards of work place comforts. They are encouraged to come
forward with suggestions to improve workplace conditions. A free doctor is
provided and a scholarship program allows 100 children to attend school.
All staff members have
the opportunity to buy houses through interest-free company loans.
The development of
staff is important to the company and opportunities to inspire and upskill are
sought. Last year employees participated in motivational seminars and Emotional
IQ training.
The Dua Kelinci
education program for elementary, junior high and high school students allows
for students to spend time at the ‘DK Campus’ where they learn about the
factory, peanut and snack food processing and good business practices. Local leaders and organizations have also been
guests at the DK Campus.
Indonesia has had a spate of serious earthquakes in the
past decade, many of which occurred in Java. Dua Kelinci has supported victims
by sending staff to disaster-affected areas to dispense food and provide
medical assistance.
Four times a year the
Red Cross sets up a mobile blood donation centre at the Pati factory. Last year
400 staff gave blood to save lives.
Children from local
orphanages are invited each year to visit the plant. In 2009 150 children
received a tour of the plant and enjoyed entertainment and free products. A
donation was also given to the orphanages by Dua Kelinci.
